This piece, composed in 2013-2104, is based on the two cases studied by Dr Aloïs Alzheimer at the turn of the 20th century to describe the neurologic disease later named after his name. Beyond the medical and human problems that emerge from the Alzheimer's notes upon those cases, I wanted to make a link with some aspects of our society. The process of the disease described by Alzheimer is connected to the process of how the neo-liberal system running our world is dealing with memory : the crucial concern of this system is to reduce as far as possible the field of our memory in order to manipulate better our behaviour of consumers. By maintaining us in a kind of very short time loop which content is always renewed superficially, this system prevent us to get the large picture of what is happening. In this music, alongside the spoken notes on the two cases, the sound material and musical structures are processed with some metaphoric concepts of the disease : distortion, degradation, scrambling, aphasia...
